A fruitful week started on Monday with a meeting with project stakeholders at FIXUS Mobilis, Vilnius. The Lithuanian Eu-Repair project team from Vytautas Magnus University presented the results of the Lithuanian National Study on the valuable built environment (VBE) repair/refurbishment legal framework and management. Specialists of preventive care of cultural heritage buildings (architects, craftsmen, engineers) were also introduced to the stakeholders’ perspectives from Lithuania on VBE legal frameworks, funding, stakeholder needs, sustainability measures, and education gaps.

The following discussions revealed that policy amendments , financial support , and professional training  are essential to enable sustainable refurbishment of historical buildings in Lithuania.

It was also highlighted that the data is crucial for choosing a refurbishment  or renovation  strategy, though the currently available data is very limited.

A tool for at least a rough assessment of different energy efficiency measures, energy savings, and/or CO2 would be very beneficial, and showcasing good practice examples in the Lithuanian case.
