Curated by Keiti Lige, Helena Männa, and Elina Liiva, Estonia, one of the Eu-Repair project partners, took partin this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale with the exhibition “Let Me Warm You”. The exhibition explores the paradox of renovation: is it solely about achieving climate targets, or can it also enhance the spatial and social quality of our living environments?

More broadly, the exhibition addresses the renovation of mass-produced apartment blocks from the second half of the 20th century – buildings that are generally not considered valuable architectural heritage. Yet the time is ripe to discuss what should be regarded as heritage, and how to balance the preservation of characteristic architectural features with the demands of renovation.

On 9–10 October 2025, during the Biennale’s Pavilion Days, visitors had the opportunity to be a part of a curator-led tours of the Estonian exhibition.

The installation features part of a Venetian palazzetto facade renovated with insulation panels also used in Estonia – a striking illustration of the debates and decisions that accompany renovation processes.
