The third transnational meeting and workshop of the Eu-Repair project was held in Kaunas.
The meeting started with a warm welcome, followed by intensive discussions, and, as a cap off the first day, there was an inspiring lecture titled „Between reuse and authenticity: negotiations of heritage and sustainability in Lithuania, “ presented by guest expert Vaidas Petrulis from Kaunas University of Technology, Institute of Architecture and Construction.
All in all, the event saw 3 outstanding presentations
– „Between reuse and authenticity: negotiations of heritage and sustainability in Lithuania“ by guest expert Vaidas Petrulis, Kaunas University of Technology, Institute of Architecture and Construction.
– “Cultural Heritage in Times of Climate Change – Between Climate Adaptation and Climate Action” by Fraunhofer IBP professor Ralf Kilian.
“The Effects of Climate Change on Lithuanian Built Heritage and Mitigation” by Laura Gaižutytė and Marius Skerniškis, Lithuanian guests from FIXUS Mobilis.
Other highlights of the meeting were the following
  • 5 curricula developed
  • 1 exiting tour around Modernistic Kaunas made
  • Number of promotional videos filmed
  • Conferences and events planned
  • Meeting in Tallinn agreed on
The guests and partners, Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy – IECE, the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP, Eesti Kunstiakadeemia / Estonian Academy of Arts, the Innovation Center of the University of Niš (ICUN), and FIXUS Mobilis, all were part of a very insightful and fruitful meeting.
