Strengthening International Collaboration for a Sustainable Future with the Eu-Repair project!
Partners from Germany , North Macedonia, Estonia , Lithuania , and Serbia met at the Fraunhofer Center for Conservation and Energy Performance of Historic Buildings in Benediktbeuern for an inspiring project meeting from October 13 to 17.
Highlights from the meeting:
- Toolkit development – Interactive workshops shaping course outlines, online learning tools, and expert session formats for the Toolkit for Sustainable Optimization of Valuable Built Environments.
- Research integration – Collaborative review of survey results and country-specific studies to identify key sustainability themes.
- Repair & refurbishment synergy – Exploring how both approaches strengthen sustainable building preservation.
- Learning platform design – Defining structure, interactivity, and user experience for the new online platform.
Partners agreed on responsibilities, planned the testing phase, and started preparations for the 2026 online launch and expert session series. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated about the new developments.
The project is coordinated by the Institute for Research in Environment, Civil Engineering and Energy – IECE. It brings together leading European institutions, the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP, Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas / Vytautas Magnus University, the Innovation Center of the University of Niš, and Eesti Kunstiakadeemia / Estonian Academy of Arts. The project is funded by the EUKI – European Climate Initiative.
